With each upcoming model year of a new Audi model, Audi Fairfield, serving drivers in the Danbury, New Haven & Stamford, CT area, scours the latest news to find out as much information as possible to share with drivers. The Audi R8 has been an attention grabber in our showroom and has undergone little modification since its 2006 introduction. For the upcoming-generation of the sporty two-seater, rumors have been circulating that the model could be due for an overhaul of changes, and we have all the details.

The new Audi R8 is expected to arrive in 2015 and while it will keep its same dimensions, it will feature a new exterior look with some new design tweaks.  These changes include a more noticeable single-frame grille which will soon be found on all future Audi RS models, a shorter sideblade and a more compact curb heft. The reduction of the models curb heft will bring the models weight down from its current 3,583 - 3,957 pounds to under 3,300 pounds.

Another prominent change is the removal of the Audi R8's R tronic gearbox which is slated to be replaced with a manual S tronic transmission option. Some markets will also receive the new model's innovative LED lights with daytime running lights. Unfortunately, these lights are not currently legal in the United States, so it may be awhile before we see this technology on models in our Fairfield, CT showroom.
