The 2017 A4, when equipped with optional LED headlights with high beam assist (only for the 2.0T Prestige models), earned a Top Safety Pick+ for the second straight year, as did the 2017 Q5 with available adaptive cruise control and xenon headlights (3.0T Prestige models only).

The 2017 A3, 2017 Q7 and 2017 A6 models, when equipped with the available driver assistance package, earned a Top Safety Pick designation.

To earn the awards, vehicles must be rated “good” in the small overlap front, moderate overlap front, side roof strength and head restraint tests, plus receive a rating of “advanced” or “superior” for front crash prevention with standard or optional automatic braking. Vehicles must also receive no less than an “acceptable” rating for headlight visibility and illumination in order to receive a Top Safety Pick+ -- a new development for 2017.
